Each year Mim partners with three to four local organizations increasing their visibility within the Mim program book and giving them fifty Mim tickets, to either give away or sell to raise money for their organization. The partnership always provides Mim with a renewed sense of purpose; seeing so many other groups uplifting our society creates a symbiotic relationship and confirms the phrase that there is a great strength in numbers!
Mim’s intention in creating partnerships is to encourage collaboration, teamwork and continue the work to expand our audience. One of our partners has been Willow Pond Ranch. Founder Sharon Northpohl and Rebecca met speaking at the same Soroptomist’s meeting. Rebecca was immediately taken by their beautiful work they do on the ranch, helping abused children by pairing them with neglected horses. Sharon attended the Mim concerts and shared that because of Mim, she experienced her very first live classical concert.
2016 partners include the Santa Cruz Sister City Support, El Sistema at Gault Elementary & the music program at Tierra Pacifica School, Coastal Watershed Council, and Grey Bears, an organization that improves the health and wellbeing of seniors through volunteerism and community participation.
