MiM’s 17th anniversary was a joyous 10 days featuring guest artist Martin Beaver, Jaime Amador, Jessica Chang, and Rebecca Jackson-Picht. Making their MiM debuts — cellist Nathan Chan, pianist Liza Stepanova, and violinist Tien Hsin Cindy Wu. Violinist Juan Jaramillo returned as manager, overseeing the festival as well as the youth programs. Our main stage concerts covered a wide range, from classics by Janácek, Elgar, Dvořák, and Brahms, to lesser-known works by Fanny Mendelssohn, Friedrich Hermann, modern works by Caroline Shaw, Jessie Montgomery, and MiM’s eighth world premiere: Dawn Norfleet’s Blues for Tovaangar for Solo Piano.
In the last few years, thanks to your continued support, our total number of youth programs has increased five-fold! Learn more in our digital program.
