Immortal through Music

I know each time Polina’s music is played, the spirit of Arben soars and he will live on forever.
— Rebecca Jackson-Picht

In 2012, MiM commissioned and premiered Haim by Polina Nazaykinskaya celebrating the life of David Arben, Holocaust survivor and former associate concertmaster of Philadelphia Orchestra. Since then, her piece continues to reach and inspire many more audiences. In honor of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, Collegium Musicum & New York Institute for Humanities and Social Studies brought together Polina and director Rebecca Jackson-Picht for a livestream broadcast in which they share the impact of David Arben and the premiere at MiM nearly 9 years ago.
